From The Archives

From The Archives is an original series created by Stray Cat Media for broadcast on BC's Knowledge Network. The program is a deep dive into the vaults of British Columbian history. Each of the 10 episodes in the series has a unique subject and a unique approach to storytelling. The stories span the entirety of BC post-colonial history, from the first gold rush all the way to Expo ‘86, and each episode brings to life the images and sounds of its rich past.

With this series, our goal was to capture the nostalgia of things past. Not many people remember riding on the old “Interurban” streetcars, or taking a “Union Steamship” up the coast, or watching the “PNE Parade”. But they were part of the fabric of life in British Columbia, and we think they’re kinda neat.

The series is part of Knowledge Network’s “BC 150”, a series of documentaries commemorating the 150th anniversary of our province’s confederation with Canada. The series is currently airing on Knowledge Network, and can be viewed online at www.knowledge.ca.
